YAHUSHUA is the proper Hebrew personal name of "Jesus". It is the name we should be using every day to refer to Him. There are five parts to this series of pages. The following links will take you to the other pages:
- YAHUSHUA - His Life
- YAHUSHUA - His Last Days
- YAHUSHUA - His Crucifixion and Death
- YAHUSHUA - His Resurrection
- YAHUSHUA - His Ascension and Second Coming
This page deals with the last days of YAHUSHUA (Jesus) on earth as His crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension approached. A separate page has been created dealing with His crucifixion and death, and another for His resurrection and ascension. Be sure to follow the links to those pages as well. What follows are some of the Scriptures that relate to His last days. The readings differ from many English translations. I have replaced the normal names with the proper personal names of YAHWEH (God) and YAHUSHUA (Jesus, Yahshua, Yeshua, etc.). Please refer to the links at the right of the page for more detail why I have chosen to make these changes. May YAHWEH's Word speak to your heart and mind as you read them.
The Last Supper & Gethsemane:
Matthew 26.26 And as they were eating, YAHUSHUA took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is My body. 27 And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it; 28 for this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom. 30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 31 Then YAHUSHUA said to them, All of you shall be offended because of Me this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. 32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. 33 Peter answered and said to Him, Though all shall be offended because of You, I will never be offended. 34 YAHUSHUA said unto him, Truly I say to you that this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times. 35 Peter said to Him, Though I should die with You, yet will I not deny You. Likewise also said all the disciples. 36 Then Yahshuah came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, Sit here, while I go and pray yonder. 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then He said unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: you wait here and watch with Me. 39 And He went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless not as I will, but as You will. 40 And He came to the disciples, and found them asleep, and said to Peter, What, could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, unless I drink it, Your will be done. 43 And He came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. 44 And He left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples, and said unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. Behold, he is at hand who betrays Me. 47 And while He yet spoke, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 Now he who betrayed Him gave them a sign, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, that same is He; hold Him fast. 49 And immediately he came to YAHUSHUA, and said, Hail, Master; and kissed Him.
Mark 14.22 And as they ate, YAHUSHUA took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat; this is My body. 23 And He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And He said unto them, This is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many. 25 Truly I say to you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the Kingdom of YAHWEH. 26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 27 And YAHUSHUA said to them, All of you shall be offended because of Me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. 28 But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. 29 But Peter said to Him, Although all shall be offended, yet I will not. 30 And YAHUSHUA said to him, Truly I say to you that this day, even in this night, before the cock crows twice, you shall deny Me three times. 31 But he spoke the more vehemently, If I should die with You, I will not deny You in any manner. Likewise also said all of them. 32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and He said to His disciples, You sit here while I shall pray. 33 And He took with Him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy, 34 and said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful unto death: you wait here and watch. 35 And He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. 36 And He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto You.Take away this cup from Me. Nevertheless not what I will, but what You will. 37 And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, do you sleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. 39 And again He went away, and prayed, and spoke the same words. 40 And when He returned, He found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither did they know what to answer Him. 41 And He came the third time, and said to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise up, let us go. Behold, he that betrays Me is at hand. 43 And immediately, while He yet spoke, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44 And he that betrayed Him had given them a token, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, that same is He; take Him, and lead Him away safely. 45 And as soon as he had come, he went straight to Him, and said, Master, Master; and kissed Him.
John - Chapters 17 & 18 (Please read these from your Bible so you can see the context in which they take place.)
1 Corinthians 10.16: The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of The Messiah? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of The Messiah?
1 Corinthians 11.23: For I have received of The Sovereign that which also I delivered to you: That The Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, the same night in which He was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: do this in remembrance of Me. 25 After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had sipped, saying, This cup is the New Covenant in My blood: you are to do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. 26 For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do proclaim The Sovereign's death until He comes.

His Denial By His Own Followers:
Matthew 26.69: Now Peter sat outside of the palace: and a young girl came to him, saying, You also were with YAHUSHUA of Galilee. 70 But he denied it before them all, saying, I know not what you say. 71 And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This fellow was also with YAHUSHUA of Nazareth. 72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. 73 And after a while they who stood by came to him and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you. 74 Then he began to curse and to swear, saying, I do not know the man; and immediately the cock crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the word of YAHUSHUA, who said to him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Mark 14.26: And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives. 27 And YAHUSHUA said to them, All of you shall be offended because of Me this night, for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. Likewise also spoke all of them.
Mark 14.66: And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there came one of the maids of the high priest: 67 and when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And you also were with YAHUSHUA of Nazareth. 68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither do I understand what you say. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crowed. 69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely you are one of them: for you are a Galilaean, and your speech agrees thereto. 71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom you speak. 72 And the second time the cock crowed. And Peter called to mind the word that Yahshuah said to him, Before the cock crows twice, you shall deny Me three times. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
Mark 15.21: And they compelled one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross. 22 And they brought Him to the place, Golgotha, which being interpreted is the place of a skull. 23 And they gave Him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but He received it not. 24 And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots upon them for what every man should take. 25 And it was the third hour; and they crucified Him. 26 And the superscription of His accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 27 And with Him they crucified two thieves, the one on His right hand, and the other on His left. 28 And the Scripture was fulfilled, which said, And He was numbered with the transgressors. 29 And they that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, You that destroys the temple, and builds it in three days, 30 save Yourself, and come down from the cross. 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; Himself He cannot save. 32 Let The Messiah, The King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him. 33 And when the sixth hour had come there was darkness over the whole land, until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour YAHUSHUA cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which being interpreted is, My Elohim, My Elohim, why have You forsaken Me? 35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, He calls Elijah. 36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elijah will come to take Him down. 37 And YAHUSHUA cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. 38 And the veil of the temple was rent in two, from the top to the bottom. 39 And when the centurion who stood over against Him saw that He so cried out and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. 40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 41 (who also, when He was in Galilee, followed Him, and ministered unto Him;) and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem. 42 And now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honorable counsellor, who also waited for the Kingdom of YAHWEH, came, and went in boldly to Pilate, and craved the body of YAHUSHUA. 44 And Pilate marvelled if He were already dead. And calling to himself the centurion, he asked him whether He had been any while dead. 45 And when he knew it from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 And he bought fine linen, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen and laid Him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone over the door of the sepulcher; 47 and Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where He was laid.
Luke 22.31: And The Sovereign said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 but I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not. And when you are converted, strengthen your brothers. 33 And he said unto Him, Sovereign, I am ready to go with You, both into prison, and to death. 34 And He said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day before you shall three times deny that you know Me.
Luke 22.54: Then took they Him, and led Him, and brought Him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off. 55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. 56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. 57 And he denied Him, saying, Woman, I know Him not. 58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, You are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. 59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilean. 60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what you say. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crowed; 61 and The Sovereign turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of The Sovereign, how He had said to him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times. 62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
John 18.25: And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore to him, Are you not also one of His disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not. 26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did not I see you in the garden with Him? 27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crowed.
