AMAREL - It means "The Message or Word of God"

Adultery is pretty commonly understood. Almost everyone knows it means having sexual relations with another person's wife or husband.
It is, at its very essence, unfaithfulness.
It always involves lying and deception.
And it involves some very serious consequences.

However, adultery also has an emotional dynamic.
 It does not have to be a physical act.
Even lusting after one
(earnestly desiring to have sexual relations with another)
who is not your spouse is defined as adultery in Scripture.
It's just as much a sin as the physical act.

You can commit adultery against YAHWEH Himself
- if indeed you are a "Believer".

This happens whenever you act “unfaithfully” to Him.
It really involves giving yourself to someone or something
other than YAHWEH.
It takes many forms.

Do you understand that YAHWEH considers those who believe in Him
to be "married" to Him?
Have you read the references to The Bride of Christ,
The Marriage Supper of The Lamb, etc.?

When we choose to trust in Him
we enter into a covenant relationship with Him.
A covenant is a contract.
It involves obligations on the parts of the parties involved.
In effect, it's like a marriage contract.
If it's broken the result is "adultery".

YAHWEH is to be the number one priority in our lives as believers.
It's His will, His desire for us.
We are to honor Him, worship Him, serve Him,
and love Him above everything else in our lives.
                                                                                 Whenever we fail to do His will we commit adultery against Him.

Scripture Verses on Adultery:
Exodus 20:14: You are not to commit adultery.

Leviticus 20:10: A man who commits adultery
with the wife herself את of another man,
who commits adultery with the wife herself את of his neighbor,

is to be put to death, put to death,
the adulterer and the adulteress!

Proverbs 6:32: The one committing adultery with a woman
lacks a heart.
The one doing it is destroying his life.

Jeremiah 3:8-9: And I saw that when for all the causes 
for which apostatizing Yisra'el had committed adultery 
I had sent her away. 
And I had given her a writing of divorce itself את.
But her treacherous sister, Yahudah, was not afraid. 
And she went. 
And she also commmitted adultery! 
9 And it was by her careless adultery 
that she defiled the land itself  את. 
And she committed adultery with the stones themselves  את
and the pieces of wood themselves  את.

Jeremiah 5:7:  How will I pardon you for this? 
Your children have abandoned Me. 
And they have sworn by what is not an elohim. 
And I had caused they themselves  את to be satisfied. 
But they committed adultery. 
And they crowded into the house of a prostitute.

Jeremiah 7:9-10:  You are stealing, murdering, 
and committing adultery, 
and swearing to untruths,
and burning incense to Ba’al, 
and walking after other elohim which you have not known. 
10 And then you come and stand before My face 
in this house upon which is called My Name 
and you say, ‘We have been delivered!’ 
for the sake of doing all these detestable things!

Jeremiah 23:14:  And among the prophets of Yerushalaim 
I have seen a horrible thing, 
committing adultery, 
and walking in lies! 
And they strengthen the hands of wrong doers. 
No man turns back from his wrong doing. 
All of them are like Sedom to Me, 
and those dwelling in her are like Amorah.

Jeremiah 29:23:  because of the foolishness 
which they have done in Yisra’el! 
And they committed adultery with 
the wives themselves  את of their neighbors! 
And they have spoken a word of lying in My Name 
which I have not given as direction to them! 
And I am The One knowing,
even a witness!’ 
- An utterance of YAHWEH -

Ezekiel 23:37: Indeed they have committed adultery!
And blood is on their hands!
And with their idols themselves  את
they have committed adultery!
And even their children themselves  את whom they bore to Me
they have caused to pass over fire 
for the sake of food offerings!

Matthew 5:27: You have heard that it was said to those of old,
"You are not to commit adultery. " (Deut. 5.18)
28 But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman
to strongly desire her
has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 5:32: But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife
except for sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery.
And whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

Matthew 15:19: Indeed, out of the heart proceed
hurtful discussions, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities,
thefts, untrue testimonies, and blasphemies.
20 These are what defile a person.

Matthew 19:9: Now I say to you,
whoever divorces his wife
except because of sexual immorality
and marries a different one commits adultery.
And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.

Mark 10:12: And if a woman divorces her husband
and marries another, she commits adultery.

Mark 10:19: You understand the teachings.
 ‘You are not to commit adultery!
You are not to murder!
You are not to steal!’
You are not bear to false witness!
You are not to defraud!
Honor your father and your mother!’ (Deut. 5.16-20)

1 Corinthians 6.9-10: Do you not understand that the unjust
will not inherit The Kingdom of YAHWEH?
Do not be deceived!
Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters,
nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunkards,
nor abusers, nor extortioners
will inherit The Kingdom of YAHWEH.

Hebrews 13.4: Marriage is worthwhile among all,
and the marital relations are to be undefiled.
But male prostitutes and adulterers YAHWEH will judge.

Take time to examine your life.
Are you guilty of this offense
- either with your spouse or with YAHWEH?
If so, it's time to address this with YAHWEH.
