The Rapture has been talked about
for many decades.
Countless books and articles have been written about it.
Many
will recall the "Left Behind" series of books and movies about this event.
Yet few have been willing to take a truly serious look
at what Scripture
actually says, or does not say, about this issue.
I admit to having been duped by all
the rhetoric about it.
I've believed in "The Rapture" for 50 years or
more.
But you know what?
I never took the time to search out diligently,
to
"rightly divide” what YAHWEH's Word says about this.
I just accepted what I was "taught",
without checking it out myself to see if it was true.
Well, once again I find myself
astonished and ashamed.
It's only since I humbled myself before YAHWEH
and made an earnest commitment to learn YAHWEH's Truth
that I've
begun to really discover just how badly misled many
who call themselves
"Christians" are.
This is truly tragic.
In today's world we have all
the resources available to us
that we need to "do our homework" and
search out the Truth.
Yet time after time we simply fail to do
what Scripture, and YAHWEH Himself instruct us to do.
Shame on us for our casual approach
to something as
serious as YAHWEH's Word!
If we're
truly going to "follow Him"
we need to be very serious about it.
We
need to do everything within our capabilities
to learn His Truth.
I had the privilege a short time ago
to listen to a message given to a group at a meeting
referred to as
"Cowboy Church" by one of those "cowboys".
He brought forth
his own struggle with the concept of the "rapture",
remarking how YAHWEH had "taken him to the
woodshed" on this issue.
He shared his study of Scripture
as he sought to
find the answers to his question.
And he told us how he had come to the
conclusion
that "there is no
rapture".
My initial reaction was one of
shock.
My secondary reaction, that same night,
was one of serious concern
that
I had been duped by my "teachers" - the traditions of men.
After some serious reflection on this issue
I simply had to check it out for myself.
I needed to verify what he presented
-
not because he was wrong,
but because I was perhaps wrong.
This article is the result of my personal research on this topic.
My friend, if you are a fellow believer in YAHWEH, and in His Son, YAHUSHUA,
and if you've been persuaded to
believe in a "rapture of the church",
you have believed in a LIE!
I agree with that cowboy -
There is no
"rapture"!
There is only the second coming of YAHUSHUA, The Messiah!
If your mind is open to it,
I can demonstrate to you that it does not exist.
Below you'll find the terms used in
Scripture,
along with their real meanings,
that are supposed to show there will
be such an event.
These include both The Old Covenant and The New Covenant terms
that are used by some to create the concept of the "rapture".
The terms are followed
by the majority of the Scripture passages that are so often
quoted
by those who promote this lie.
I urge you to study them for yourself,
with the proper meaning of the terms
inserted into the text,
and not the
"theological" terminology used
even by most "translators"
to produce their version of the text.
Do your own comparison.
Put them
side-by-side
and observe the obvious 'religious bias'
inserted by the
"translators" into the text.
By simply adding or slightly changing a
few terms
they can imply something
exists that does not exist.
Sadly, the more I research these
age-old "traditions of men"
the more I realize just how foolish I have been, personally,
to simply accept
their teachings,
without bothering to check them out for myself.
That's
irresponsible.
It's even contrary to Scripture
which encourages us to be
diligent
in searching out the Truth, YAHWEH's Truth,
and doing everything we can to live according to what HE SAYS!
Please, study these verses very
carefully - and prayerfully.
See if you can find within them any reference
to a separate event that
is commonly referred to
as "The Rapture of The Church".
If you can, I'd really like to hear what you've found. I can find none.
The terms used to refer to "the rapture":
726. aJrpa¿zw harpazo, har-pad´-zo; from a derivative of 138;
to seize (in various applications):
— catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force).
138. aiJre÷omai haireomai,
hahee-reh´-om-ahee; probably akin to 142;
to take for oneself, i.e. to prefer:
— choose.
4884.sunarpa¿zw sunarpazo, soon-ar-pad´-zo; from
4862 and 726;
to snatch together, i.e.
seize:
— catch.
4862. sun sun, soon; a primary preposition
denoting union; with
or together
(but much closer than 3326 or 3844),
i.e. by association,
companionship, process, resemblance,
possession, instrumentality, addition,
etc.:
— beside, with. In composition it has similar applications,
including
completeness.
726 is aJrpa¿zw harpazo,
given above.

sunarpazo: occurrences
Luke 8:29 Indeed, He
had directed
the defiled nature
to come out of the person,
because many times
it had seized him.
And he was kept shackled with chains and fetters.
And he broke the bonds
and was
driven by the defiled nature into the wilderness.
Acts 6:12 They even
incited the people,
the elders,
and the
scribes.
And they assaulted him, seized him, and led him
to The Sanhedrin.
Acts 19:29 So the whole city was filled with disorder
and rushed into the theater with one mind,
having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians,
Sha’ul’s travel
companions.
Acts 27:15 Then the ship
having been caught,
and not being able
to
face into the wind,
we surrendered her,
being driven.
Not one of these references is in any way
connected to a
"rapture",
being snatched up and away into Heaven.
harpazo: occurrences
Matt. 11:12 Now from the days
of Yahonathan the Baptizer until now
The Kingdom of The Heavens suffers violence,
and the violent ones seize it by force.
Matt. 13:19 When anyone hears
the message of The Kingdom,
yet
does not understand i
t,
the hurtful one comes and seizes what was sown in his heart.
This is the seed beside the
road.
- the typical translation uses
"snatches away”,
yet there is absolutely no connection to a
"rapture".
It's talking about seeds.
John 6:15 YAHUSHUA therefore,
knowing that they
were about to come
and seize Him
in order to make Him king,
departed once more
onto the
mountain
by Himself alone.
John 10:12 But one who is
a hired-servant (employee)
and not
the shepherd,
for whom the sheep
are not his own,
watches the wolf coming and
leaves the sheep and runs away.
And the wolf
seizes the sheep and scatters the sheep.
John 10:28 And I am giving to them Eternal Life.
And they will not ever
be completely destroyed.
Neither will anyone
seize them out of My hand.
John 10:29 My Father,
who gives them to Me,
is
greater than everything.
And not even one
is able to seize them
from My Father’s hand.
Acts 8:39 Now when they had come up out of the water
the Divine Nature of YAHWEH seized Phillip,
and the eunuch saw him
no longer.
Indeed, he traveled on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip
was found
at Azotus.
And traveling through,
he proclaimed the good news in all the
towns
until he came to Caesarea.
- This passage is normally
translated as "caught… away",
similar in thought to what is presented
as a "rapture",
but it has absolutely nothing to do
with a believer
being taken out of the world.
Acts 23:10 Now great dissension having happened,
the
commander,
fearing lest Sha’ul might be pulled to pieces by them,
ordered the soldiers
to
go down and seize him
out of the
midst of them
and bring him into the barracks.
2Cor. 12:1-4 Now being
that it’s not profitable for me to
boast
I will then go on
to visions and revelations of The Master.
2 I knew a
man
in The Messiah
about fourteen years ago.
(Whether in the body
I do not
know
or whether out of the body I do not know.
YAHWEH knows.)
Truly this one was taken even into
the Third Heaven.
3 And I knew truly this man
(Whether in the body
or out
of the body
I do not know.
YAHWEH knows.)
4 He was taken into Paradise
and
heard
inexpressible utterances
which it is not right
for a human being to
utter.
- This is a passage that could
possibly be construed
as representing a "rapture".
It's normally
translated as "caught up”.
- However, Sha’ul is very clear that
this refers to a vision,
and not to
a physical experience of being taken out of the world.
1Thess. 4:13-18 Now I do not want you
to be ignorant,
brothers,
concerning those who have died,
in order that you are not sad,
like
the others
who have no hope.
14 Indeed,
if we trust that YAHUSHUA
has died
and has been raised
up,
in this same way YAHWEH will also
bring with Him
those who have died
for the sake
of YAHUSHUA.
15 Indeed,
this we say to you
by The Word of YAHWEH,
that we
who are alive,
surviving until
the coming
of The Master,
by no means precede
those who are dead,
16 because The Master
Himself
will descend
from The Heaven
with a shout,
with the sound
of a Chief YAH-Messenger,
and with the trumpet
of YAHWEH,
and the dead
in The Messiah will
be raised up first.
17 After that we who are alive and surviving
will be seized (taken) at the same time together with them
nto the
clouds
to meet (encounter) The Master in the air.
And thus we will always be with The Master.
18 Therefore,
encourage one another with these words.
- Same time - "together with
them".
- After them, not before them.
- And not without them - separate from them.
Jude 23 but others save with fear,
seizing them from the fire,
detesting even the
garment stained by the flesh.
- No connection to any "rapture".
Rev. 12:5 And she gave birth to a male child
who would rule
all nations with a rod of iron.
And her child was taken to YAHWEH and to His throne.
- The woman is Ysra'el.
The male
child is The Messiah.
- He is "seized" (taken)
to YAHWEH and to His throne;
an obvious reference to the ascension of The Messiah,
and not to anyone else.
Not one of the
preceding occurrences of harpazo
is in
any manner connected
to a proposed "snatching away" of "the
church".
NONE OF THEM!
Likewise, none of the
following passages
provide any evidence of a "rapture" event,
yet
these are passages often cited by those
who claim there will be a
"rapture".
Read the evidence
from YAHWEH's WORD for yourself
- and then decide if you're still going to
believe there is a "rapture".
1 Cor. 15:20-24 But now,
The Messiah
has been raised up
from
being dead,
and has become
the first fruits of those
who have fallen
asleep.
21 Indeed,
since death came
by means of a human being,
by a
human being also came the resurrection of the dead.
22 Indeed,
just as in Adam all die,
even so in The Messiah will all be made alive,
23 but each one
in his own order.
The Messiah
is the
first fruits;
afterward those
who are
The Messiah’s
at His coming;
24 after
that
comes the end
when He
delivers the kingdom
to YAHWEH,
even The Father,
when He will render useless all rule
and
all authority
and power.
There is no "rapture"
in view here.
The Messiah is resurrected first.
THEN, at His coming (the second one) those who are His are resurrected.
It does not say they are "raptured" or taken out of the world.
It's speaking of those who are dead
and need to be resurrected at His coming.
This is not at some mystical "appearing in
the sky"
for the sake of believers who are still alive.
1Cor. 15:50-58 Now this I say, brothers,
that flesh and blood
cannot inherit the kingdom of YAHWEH.
Neither does that
which is
corrupt
inherit incorruptibility.
51 Behold! I tell you a
mystery.
We will not all sleep (die),
but we will all be made different,
52
in an instant,
in the blink of an eye
at
the last trumpet.
Indeed,
the
trumpet will sound,
and the
dead
will be raised incorruptible,
and
we who are alive
will be made different.
53 Indeed, this
corruptible
must put on incorruption,
and this mortal
must put on
immortality.
54 Now when this corruptible has put on incorruption,
and this
mortal
has put on immortality,
then will be brought to pass the saying that is
written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.” (Is. 25.8)
55 “O
Death, where is your sting?
O Hades,
where is your victory?” (Hos. 13.14)
56
The sting of death is offenses,
and the power of offenses
is The Torah.
57
But thanks be
to YAHWEH,
Who
gives us the victory through our Master, YAHUSHUA,
The Messiah.
58 Therefore,
my beloved brothers,
be settled, immovable,
always
abounding
in the work
of The Master,
knowing that your labor is not in vain
in
The Master.
- The only
"gathering of believers" is at the LAST TRUMPET.
- There is no
"rapture" indicated in any manner whatsoever.
1Thess. 1:9-10 Indeed,
they themselves
declare concerning us
what
manner of entrance we had among you,
and how you
converted
to YAHWEH
from idols (voiceless images)
to
serve
The Living
and True Elohim,
10 and
are awaiting
His Son
from The Heavens,
whom He has raised up from being
dead,
YAHUSHUA,
Who is delivering us
from the wrath
which
is coming.
- This does not say "from the
great tribulation".
The reference instead appears to be to the wrath YAHWEH sends
on those who have not
believed.
They are certainly not delivered from His eternal wrath.
And the
believers are waiting for YAHUSHUA
-
not for "a rapture" prior to YAHUSHUA's second coming.
- He is only coming twice!
He is not coming to take "the church" out of the world
prior to His Second
Coming!
Not according to YAHWEH's Word.
1Thess. 5:8-11 But we
who are of the day should be sober,
putting
on the breastplate of trust and love,
and as a helmet
the anticipation of deliverance,
9 because YAHWEH has not appointed us to wrath,
but instead, for the acquisition of deliverance
through our Master, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah,
10 Who has died
for us,
in order that
whether we keep alert
or sleep,
we might live
together
with Him.
11 Consequently, encourage one another
and build up one another,
just
as you also are doing.
- The concept of "not being
appointed to wrath"
is distorted by those who promote "the
rapture".
They claim this means "the church",
the body of The
Messiah, will not have to endure
"The Great Tribulation”
- which they equate with "wrath"
(implying it's the same as "The Day of YAHWEH's Wrath”).
What they fail to distinguish
is that there
is more than one dimension to YAHWEH's wrath,
and it does not all get completed during "the time of Jacob's
trouble".
There is also an eternal wrath,
reserved for those who refuse to
believe in YAHWEH or His Messiah.
- While it is true that believers
will be delivered from wrath,
it's that enduring wrath of eternity that is in
view.
To take ONE VERSE,
take it out of its proper context within Scripture,
and
twist it to proclaim that "the church"
will not go through "The
Great Tribulation"
is a horrible distortion of YAHWEH's Truth.
2Thess. 1:6-10 Perhaps it is just
with YAHWEH
to repay with trouble
those who are troubling you,
7 and to repay you who are being
troubled
with relief among us
at the revelation
of The Master, YAHUSHUA,
from Heaven
with His mighty messengers;
8 in blazing fire
delivering
retribution
upon those
who do not recognize YAHWEH,
and upon those
who are not
paying attention
to the good
news
of our Master,
YAHUSHUA,
The
Messiah.
9 These will pay
the price of justice
by means of eternal
destruction
away from
the presence of YAHWEH
and
away from
the magnificence
of His might
10.
when He comes;
being honored
by His set apart ones
and being marveled
at by all those
who are
trusting at that time,
because
our
testimony concerning Him
has been believed.
2Thess. 2:1-12 We ask you now, brothers,
concerning the coming (return) of our Master, YAHUSHUA,
The Messiah,
and our
complete gathering unto Him,
2 not to be soon disturbed in the mind
nor frightened,
neither by a vital
essence,
nor by a message,
nor by a letter
as if from us,
as though the day
of The Messiah
is at hand.
3 Not even one of you
is to be deceived
by any means,
because that
day will not come
(It appears that this is either to be inferred,
or a portion of text is
missing.
Without this the section does not make proper sense.)
unless the falling
away comes first,
and The Man of Offense has been revealed,
The Son of
Destruction,
4 the one who
is opposing
and exalting himself
above everything
that is identified as a god (elohim)
or that is an object of worship,
so that
he,
in the manner of YAHWEH,
is
sitting
in The Temple of YAHWEH as YAHWEH,
exhibiting himself as YAHWEH.
5 Do you not remember that
being yet with you
I told you these things?
6 And now you understand Who is restraining him,
(YAHWEH is the restrainer.)
so that he
might be revealed in his own set time.
7 Indeed,
the mystery of lawlessness is already active.
Only He is restraining it (The
Mystery of Lawlessness)
until it becomes absent from the midst.
8 And
then
“The Lawless One” will be revealed,
whom YAHWEH will consume
with the breath
of His mouth,
and will render
entirely useless
by the appearance of His presence;
9 whose coming (The Lawless
One)
is according to
the operation of The Adversary,
by every force,
and by miracles,
and by lying wonders,
10 and with every delusion of injustice
among those
who are
being
totally destroyed
because they
did not accept
the love of The Truth (YAHUSHUA)
in order that they
might have
been delivered.
11 And for this reason
YAHWEH will send them effective deception
so
that they believe
The Lie,
12 in order that everyone might be condemned
who does
not trust in The Truth,
but instead,
has pleasure in injustice.
- The coming of The Master, YAHUSHUA,
is equated with our being gathered together to Him!
Paul is writing to
believers!
Not one of them will be gathered to Him
prior to His second coming!
John 6:40 Moreover, this
is the will of Him
Who has sent
Me,
that everyone
who is observing The Son
and is trusting in Him
might have Eternal Life!
And I will
raise him up
at the last day.”
John 6:43 YAHUSHUA therefore responded and said to them,
“Do not grumble
with one another!
44 Not
even one
is able to come to Me
unless The Father Who has sent Me draws him.
And I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:53 Therefore YAHUSHUA said to them,
“Most assuredly I
say to you,
unless you continually eat the flesh of The Son of Man
and drink His blood
you have no life in
you.
6:54 Whoever continually eats My flesh
and drinks My blood has Eternal Life!
And I will raise him up at the
last day.
- Three times in one chapter
The
Messiah teaches that those who believe in Him
will be raised up at the last day.
Three witnesses
absolutely confirms a matter in Hebrew thought.
Two witnesses is enough to put
someone to death.
- There is no reference to anyone
being "raised up" or "taken
up" before the last day.
Rev. 7:9 - 8.1 After these
things (the sealing of the 144,000)
I looked.
And behold!
A large crowd
which no one was able to
count
from all
races,
and clans,
and peoples,
and languages,
standing
before the throne
and before The
Lamb,
having been clothed with white garments,
and with palm branches in their
hands.
10 And they
were crying out
with a loud voice saying,
“Our
deliverance is of YAHWEH
Who is sitting
upon the throne,
and of The Lamb!”
11 And all the messengers stood around the throne,
and the
elders,
and the four living beings.
And they fell
on their faces
before
the throne
and worshiped YAHWEH,
12
saying,
“Amen!
Blessing
and honor
and wisdom
and thanksgiving
and
preciousness
and power
and might,
be to our Elohim
into the ages of eternity.
Amen!”
13 And one of the elders responded,
saying to me,
“Who are these that are clothed in white
robes and where did they come from?”
14 And I said to him, “Master
you
understand.”
Then he said to me,
“These
are the ones who come out of the great trouble,
and have washed
their robes
and
have whitened them
by means of
the blood of
The Lamb.
15 Because of
this
they are before the throne of YAHWEH
and
serve Him
day and night
in His temple.
And He Who is sitting upon the
throne
will dwell among them.
16 They will not be hungry anymore nor will
they be thirsty anymore.
The sun will not fall upon them, nor burn any one,
17
because The Lamb, Who is in the midst
of the throne,
will shepherd them and will
guide them
to living fountains of waters.
And YAHWEH
will
wipe away (Lit. – erase) every tear
from their eyes.”
8:1 And when He
had
opened
the seventh seal
there was silence
in The Heaven
for about half an hour.
- The Seventh Seal represents YAHWEH's judgment upon the earth
- The
Day of YAHWEH, the Day of Vengeance.
- There is nothing that says these
are the ones
who were delivered before "the
great tribulation",
but instead indicates these came out of it.
They
are given white robes - cleansed, purified.
There is no other group identified
as already being there first, or
separate from them.
This last portion of Scripture is very important.
There are
several things identified that are contrary to what is typically taught today.
Rev. 20:4-15 Then I saw thrones.
And they sat on them.
And
judgment was committed to them.
And I saw the lives of those who
had been beheaded
because
of
the witness of YAHUSHUA
and
because of
The Word of YAHWEH;
who
had not worshiped the dangerous animal
,
nor his image,
nor received
his mark on their foreheads nor on their hands.
And they lived
and reigned
with The Messiah
for a thousand
years.
5 But the rest of
the dead
did not live again
until the thousand years were completed.
This is
the first
resurrection.
6 Happy
and set apart
is one
who has a part
in the first
resurrection.
(There are two resurrections,
but there is not a separate "rapture"
of believers identified.
- The first includes those who have been beheaded for
their faith.
- The second includes all the rest
of the dead.)
Over these
the second
death has no authority.
On the contrary,
they shall be priests of YAHWEH and of The Messiah,
and shall
reign
with Him
for a thousand years.
7 And when
the thousand years have been completed
The Adversary will be released from his prison
8 and will go out
to deceive the nations
which are in
the four corners
of the earth,
Gog and Magog, to gather them together into battle
(The battle of
Armageddon)
whose number
is like the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up
upon the breadth of the land
and
surrounded the camp
of the set apart ones
and the beloved city.
And fire
came down from YAHWEH out of The
Heaven
and devoured them.
10 And The False Accuser,
who was deceiving them,
was thrown
into
the lake of fire
and brimstone
where the dangerous animal and the false
prophet are.
And they will be tortured day and night
into the ages of eternity.
11 And I saw
a great
white throne
and Him
Who is sitting upon it,
from Whose presence the
earth
and the sky
fled away.
And there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead,
small and great,
standing
in the
presence of YAHWEH.
And books were opened.
And a different book was opened
which is
The Book of Life.
And the dead
were
judged
according to their works
from the things
which were written
in the
books.
(- Not the living believers who are
taken to Heaven with The Messiah,
or those who were part of the first
resurrection,
but all of those who are dead.
- Some have their names written in
The book of Life (v. 15). Some do not.)
13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it,
and death and
Hades
gave up
the dead
who were in them.
And they were judged,
each one
according
to their works.
14 Then death and Hades
were thrown into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
15 And if anyone was not found written in
The Book of Life
he
or she was thrown into the lake of fire.
Rev. 21:1-11 Then I saw a
new heaven and a new earth.
Indeed,
the
first heaven and the first earth had passed away.
Also there was
no more sea.
2
Then I,
John,
saw the sacred city,
New
Yerushalaim,
coming down
out of The Heaven
from YAHWEH,
prepared as a
bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice
from The Heaven saying,
“Behold!
The
Tabernacle of YAHWEH is in the
midst
of human beings.
And He will dwell
in their midst,
and they
will be His
people.
And YAHWEH Himself will be
among them
as their Elohim.
4 And YAHWEH will wipe away every tear
from their eyes.
There will be no more death, nor
grief,
nor crying.
And there will be
no more pain (Lit. – toil)
because
the
former things have passed away.”
5 Then He
Who is
sitting
upon the throne said,
“Behold!
I make all things new.”
And He said to me,
“Write!
Because
these words are truthful and faithful.”
6 And He said to me,
“It is finished!
I am The Aleph and The Tav,
The Beginning and The End!
I will give freely
to him who is thirsty
from the
fountain
of the water of life.
7 He who conquers will be an heir
of everything.
And I will
be his Elohim
and he will be My child.
8 But
cowardly
and unbelieving,
and disgusting,
and murderers,
and sexually
immoral
and sorcerers,
and
idol worshippers, and all liars
will have their inherited portion
in the
lake which burns with fire
and brimstone,
which is the second death.”
9 Then one of
the seven messengers
who had the seven bowls filled
with
the seven last calamities
came
to me
and talked with me saying,
“Come!
I will show
you
the bride,
The Lamb’s wife.”
10 And he carried me away
in The Divine Nature of YAHWEH
to a great
and high
mountain.
And he showed me the mighty
city,
The Set Apart Yerushalaim,
descending out of The
Heaven
from YAHWEH,
11 having the magnificence of YAHWEH.
Her light
was like
a most precious stone,
even like a
jasper stone,
clear as crystal.
- Do you see who The Bride of The Messiah is? John 21.1,
and 10.
- Is it "The Church"? NO!
- It is The Holy City, NewYerushalaim
- the residence for ALL believers,
both Yisra’elite and Gentile
- all
whose names are written in The Lamb's Book of Life.
- Please keep in mind that this is
not my idea.
- It’s what YAHWEH's Word declares to you.
- Don't believe me, believe Him!
We've reviewed the Scriptures that are used
to teach there
is a "rapture" - just for believers - just for "The
Church".
That teaching also typically states
that it is the indwelling
"Holy Spirit" (thus, The Church)
that is "the restrainer",
and THIS is what's responsible for
"preventing"
the final stages of this age
and the second coming of
The Messiah.
Do you believe that - after reviewing these Scripture
passages in detail?
There is NO RAPTURE!
It is a
"fiction" - a FALSE TEACHING!
You are left with only two choices.
You can believe
YAHWEH's Word.
Or, you can believe a lie.
What's your choice?
