YAHUSHUA - His Ascension And Second Coming

YAHUSHUA is the proper Hebrew personal name of "Jesus". It is the name we should be using every day to refer to Him. There are five parts to this series of pages. The following links will take you to the other pages:

  - YAHUSHUA - His Life

 -
YAHUSHUA - His Last Days

 -
YAHUSHUA - His Crucifixion and Death

 -
YAHUSHUA - His Resurrection
  - YAHUSHUA - His Ascension and Second Coming

Not only did YAHUSHUA (Jesus) suffer and die and rise from death on the third day, but He also ascended into Heaven afterward - along with the promise that He would come back, to earth again one day. Many are confused about these things because they don't understand what the Word of Yahweh has to say about them.
His ascension means He is now in Heaven, seated right next to The Father, YAHWEH, in a position of special favor and authority. There He intercedes between YAHWEH and those who truly believe in Him as The Promised Messiah of YAHWEH. His ascension is yet another fulfillment of the promises YAHWEH has given in His Word of Truth. It marks the faithfulness of YAHWEH. What He speaks He also performs. This is the basis upon which faith rests - the faithfulness, the absolute trustworthiness, of YAHWEH.
The second coming of The Messiah will mark a major transition in the relationship between the world and YAHWEH. It will mark the end of the world as we now know it. Upon The Messiah's return, and following it, nothing will ever remain as we now know it. Everything will change. For those who believe in Him, at the time of His second coming there will be great joy and celebration. For those who do not believe in Him it will mean trouble like they've never known before. It will become their "worst nightmare".
The issue is belief. The only question that will matter is,
"Do YOU believe YAHWEH?"
Also, somewhere in between His first coming to earth, and His second coming to earth another event will occur. Many refer to this as The Rapture, or "the snatching away". What many fail to recognize is that both the first and second coming of The Messiah, YAHUSHUA, have to do specifically with the nation of Israel, The Jews. The Rapture, on the other hand, has specifically to do with The Church (ecclesia), The Body of The Messiah - with those who have chosen to truly believe in The Messiah, YAHUSHUA, as the One who has redeemed them from their Sin and its consequences. This group consists of both Jewish and Gentile believers, but it does not include the entire Jewish nation. YAHWEH deals with these two groups separately on certain issues.
Most people fail to rightly divide YAHWEH's Word, especially on these matters. As a result, there is great confusion concerning them. These things relate to the Old Covenant, and the New (or renewed) Covenant. YAHWEH kept the essential elements of the New Covenant secret
, at least initially. He did not reveal "the mystery" of The Church until after the death, resurrection, and ascension of The JEWISH Messiah. This is what He promised when He said:

Is. 43:18 Don’t remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. (19) Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall you not know it?

Is. 42:9 Behold, the former things have happened, and new things do I declare. Before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Is. 48:6 You have heard it; look at all this; and you, will you not declare it? I have shown you new things from this time, even hidden things, which you have not known. (7) They are created now, and not from of old; and before this day you didn’t hear them; lest you should say, Behold, I knew them. (8) Indeed, you didn’t hear; indeed, you didn’t know; indeed, from of old your ear was not opened: for I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.

The  Messiah was promised only to the nation of Israel (or children of Israel) by their Elohim, YAHWEH. YAHWEH was not the elohim (god) of other nations. He was, and is The Elohim of Israel. If you fail to understand this point, and apply His Word accordingly, you most certainly will have confusion about many things that are found in His Word.
Now, it is precisely because the Children of Israel rejected their promised Messiah upon His first visit to this earth that YAHWEH permitted the promises of The Messiah to apply to the Gentiles (the non-Jews). Only after Israel had rejected their promised Messiah, both before and after His resurrection, did YAHWEH (through The Apostle Paul) reveal "The Mystery of The Church". This is found in Paul's letters to the seven churches, beginning especially with Romans and continuing through Thessalonians. It is essential that a "Gentile" believer understands this message. Those seven letters form the foundation for virtually all of the vital doctrines that apply to The Church. They are different from those that apply to national Israel at many points.
The Church (this is not the organized church you normally think of - it is The Body of YAHUSHUA, those who truly believe in Him) will, from indications in Scripture, be "snatched away" (raptured) prior to the second coming of The Messiah unto the Children of Israel. The Church will not experience the outpouring of the wrath of YAHWEH upon the Children of Israel, and upon the non-believing world, for their failure to believe Him, or to believe in His promised Messiah. All who have failed to believe YAHWEH, after The Church is taken out, will be left to face "The Last Days" scenarios portrayed so dramatically in The Word of YAHWEH. They will not be pleasant days.
Read The Word of YAHWEH for yourself. Remember to read the surrounding verses as well, so you understand the context in which they are presented. The context is very important to a proper understanding of The Word.

His Ascension Into Heaven

Mark 16.19:  So then after The Sovereign had spoken to them, He was received up into Heaven, and sat at the right hand of YAHWEH.

Luke 24.50:  And He led them out as far as to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into Heaven. 52 And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

John 6.62:  And what if you shall see the Son of Man ascend up where He was before?

John 20.17:  YAHUSHUA said to her, Touch Me not; for I am not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers, and say to them, I ascend unto My Father, and your Father; and to My Elohim, and your Elohim.

Acts 1.9:  And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, You men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same YAHUSHUA, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into Heaven.

Hebrews 4.14:  Seeing then that we have a great high priest who is passed into the heavens, YAHUSHUA the Son of YAHWEH, let us hold fast our profession.

1 Peter 3.21:  The like figure whereunto even baptism does also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward Yahweh,) by the resurrection of YAHUSHUA The Messiah, 22 who is gone into Heaven, and is at the right hand of YAHWEH, angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him.

His Second Coming

Matthew 16.27:  For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.

Matthew 24.27:  For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.

Matthew 24.30:  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24.36:  But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 And as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.

Matthew 25.31:  When the Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory. 32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations, and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats. 33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say to them on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Mark 8.38:  Whoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

Mark 14.61:  Again the High Priest asked Him, and said unto Him, Are You The Messiah, the Son of The Blessed One? 62 And YAHUSHUA said, I am. And you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of The Power, and coming amidst the clouds of Heaven.

Luke 12.37:  Blessed are those servants, whom The Sovereign, when He comes, shall find watching. Truly say unto you, that He shall gird Himself, and make them to sit down to eat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if He shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be you therefore ready also: for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you think not.

Luke 21.26:  Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of Heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.

Acts 1.11:  Who also said, You men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same YAHUSHUA, who is taken up from you into Heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into Heaven.

1 Corinthians 1.5:  That in every thing you are enriched by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 even as the testimony of The Messiah was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come behind in no gift,  waiting for the coming of our Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah, 8 who shall also confirm you unto the end,  blameless in the day of our Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah. 9 YAHWEH is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of his Son YAHUSHUA, The Messiah, our Sovereign.

1 Corinthians 4.5: Therefore judge nothing before the time, until The Sovereign comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every man have praise for YAHWEH.

Philippians 3.20:  For our conversation (way of life) is in Heaven; from where also we look for The Savior, The Sovereign, YAHUSHUA ,The Messiah, 21 who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.

Colossians 3.4:  When The Messiah, our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with Him in glory.

1 Thessalonians 3.13:  To the end He may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before Yahweh, even our Father, at the coming of our Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah, with all His saints.

1 Thessalonians 4.15:  For this we say unto you by the word of The Sovereign, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of The Sovereign shall not precede those who are dead. 16 For The Sovereign Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of Yahweh. And the dead in The Messiah shall rise first; 17 then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The Sovereign in the air. And so shall we ever be with The Sovereign. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 5.1:  But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of The Sovereign comes as a thief in the night.

2 Thessalonians 1.7:  And to you who are troubled, rest with us when The Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, shall be revealed from Heaven with his mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not Yahweh, and that obey not the gospel of our Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah.

2 Timothy 4.1:  I charge you therefore before Yahweh, and The Sovereign, YAHUSHUA, The Messiah, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom;

Titus 2.11:  For the grace of YAHWEH that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world, 13 looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great YAHWEH, and our Savior YAHUSHUA, The Messiah, 14 who gave Himself for us; that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.

1 John 3.1:  Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of YAHWEH. But we know that when He shall appear we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
